Overview

Spelling Strategies and Practice teaches students how to apply their knowledge of phonics, word structure, spelling patterns and etymology to words that they find challenging.

Students complete a spelling assessment that consists of useful but commonly misspelled words, and the results are used to generate a list of words for each student to practise. Then students develop their own specific spelling strategy for each word, drawing on skills and knowledge from other modules.

Students complete homework sheets to practise their target words.
