Module 9: Homophones and Confusable Words

£20.00

This module is for students who lack confidence reading or spelling common homophones and confusable words

Overview

Confidence spelling high-frequency words is important for students’ motivation because it allows them to focus their attention on other aspects of their writing. Homophones and Confusable Words teaches students the meaning and spelling of commonly misspelled words.

The target words are tested in the Fill the gap – Dictation section of the initial LIfTT assessment, and the words that each student needs to learn are listed in the output of the assessment. Teachers may also spot errors in students’ independent writing that indicate they need to study this module.

Step-by-step guidance for teaching Homophones and Confusable Words is available in the Teaching Manual.
